Air Antisubron 35/VS-35 - Airman Recruit
Need help getting verification about USS Ticonderoga's 1972-1973 deployment to Vietnam. I was aboard then assigned to Air AntiSubron 35/VS-35. Even though my DD-214 says I served there and was awarded the Vietnam service medal w/one bronze star they are saying I was never there and if I was we where never in enemy waters. So, they keep denying me service connected disability. Can anyone help me out with this issue or tell me what I can do. Thank you.

I am having a problem with the VA system . I have a original DD-214 that states that I served in Vietnam & earned a Vietnam service medal w/one bronze star. The VA keeps denying me when their own doctors have diagnosed me with all these ailments because of my service and I have documentation that states that I did serve there. What can a old swabby do to prove them wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I flew off the Ticonderoga in a TBM. There were three of us in the plane. Jay Wilson, from Nappanee, Indiana was the pilot. The gunner was John Mattson, from Portland, Oregon. I was the radioman. We were shot down off the coast of Japan while "skip bombing" and floated in the ocean for about 20 hours before being picked up. I will never forget it! Supply
I need help very badly. My father was in supply on the ship when she was in Viet Nam and he is dead now but he died fighting the VA for benifits he should have gotten and I am still after years fighting for him. His name was William Worley and the Va says they lost part of his records in a fire in Chicago. I need men that were on the ship to contact me. Since my dad was in supply it was different because he had to have a place were he could trade and get things from weird places and in ways they did not talk about so dad was given a hootch on land in Nam and that is where he did business. He got sick and suffered for many years because he was in contact with Agent Orange but the navy says I can't prove he was on land getting all the goods he could get at all hours of days and nights from things and people that could not be running all over the ship for lots of reasons. I just need someone to day that they did do it that way. I took care of my father until he died and he suffered very badly that broke my heart and everyone that he knew he had lost contact with our they had died. I need some help badly. I guess pictures of my dad there and his word was not good enough. I had one other letter that my dad stayed on land but because I married that man many years later they discount him also. Please help me at [email protected]. 256-638-8388. Cell is 256-605-1551 they tell me all my appeals are just about over so please I need help fast. I know some of you will help me. Diane Ringer
